June 12

Burglary: An Applecrest Drive man discovered two $100 bicycles missing from his garage after someone had entered.

Burglary: A traffic stop near South Avenue led to the arrest of a Youngstown man, 21, wanted on a warrant from Austintown charging him with aggravated burglary.

Theft: The rear license plate was removed from a vehicle at a Stadium Drive business.

Counterfeit: A worker at a Southern Park Mall restaurant told police a customer passed a phony $20 bill to pay for a meal.

Criminal mischief: A Cook Avenue woman reported someone had been opening her mail.

Theft/misuse of a credit card: An Austintown man told authorities his wallet was removed from his car at a Boardman-Canfield Road business, and that his debit card was used without consent to make more than $300 worth of charges.

Theft: A Poland woman reported her checkbook, credit card and Social Security card stolen while at a Doral Drive store.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle check near South Avenue resulted in a 21-year-old Youngstown man’s arrest when police found out he was wanted on a criminal-damaging charge. He also was charged with having no operator’s license.

Theft: A Youngstown woman, 24, was charged, accused in the theft of three makeup kits from Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive.

Forgery: A New Springfield woman alleged her grandson attempted to cash a stolen check at a South Avenue bank.

Misuse of a credit card: A Boardman woman reviewed her credit statement and noticed several charges had been made without permission at the Southern Park Mall.

June 13

Bad check: A teller with Farmers National Bank, 102 W. Western Reserve Road, told officers a woman had deposited an $800 travelers check and that a stop-payment order was issued upon learning the check was no good.

Arrest: Police stopped a 49-year-old Youngstown man riding his bicycle near Market Street after discovering he was wanted on a probation-violation count. The original charge was assault.

Criminal mischief: A Riverside Drive woman reported someone lighted fireworks and tried to toss them at her bedroom window.

Theft: A motorist pumped and failed to pay for $53 worth of gasoline before leaving a Get Go station, 6911 South Ave.

Drugs: Officers responded to a report of an intoxicated man who refused to leave the Southern Park Mall and arrested a 52-year-old Boardman man on charges of drug abuse and disorderly conduct while intoxicated. He was disruptive and belligerent near the food court area, and he had four Vicodin tablets, the report said.

Stolen property: A Warren man, 50, faced a felony count of receiving stolen property after being pulled over in the 6200 block of South Avenue. He had a stolen expiration sticker on his vehicle, police said.

Theft/counterfeit: A worker with Dramex International, 8110 Southern Blvd., reported a stolen check that was fraudulent and passed for $155,841.

Domestic violence: A 26-year-old man was taken into custody at his Mill Creek Boulevard home and charged. The man’s wife alleged he came to her home with a knife and threatened over the phone to harm her.

Bad check: A 33-year-old Youngstown woman surrendered to authorities and was charged with passing a bad check after a check she wrote in November to a Boardman-Canfield Road business was returned for insufficient funds.

June 14

Fraud: An elderly Poland man reported losing two credit cards at a Southern Boulevard store and learning one was used fraudulently at a Midlothian Boulevard business.

Domestic violence: A traffic stop on U.S. Route 224 resulted in the arrest of a Boardman man, 31, wanted on a warrant from Columbiana County charging him.

Arrest: Police responded to an intoxicated man at a South Avenue motel, where they arrested a 25-year-old Willoughby, Ohio, man on a disorderly-conduct charge. The man had barged into a room, refused to leave and failed to cooperate with authorities, the report showed.

Criminal damaging: Two windows were broken at Pellin Ambulance Service Inc., 15 Crestline Place.

Theft: A woman stole a $20 pair of women’s shoes from Payless ShoeSource, 48 Boardman-Poland Road.

Menacing: An employee with a Boardman-Canfield Road business told police a co-worker threatened to harm her.

Theft: Two people took two articles of clothing from Sears in the Southern Park Mall, costing the store $80.

Theft: A woman’s wallet was stolen from her purse as she shopped at a Southern Park Mall store.

June 15

Theft: A Niles man, 33, was charged in the theft of six DVDs from Wal-Mart. The loss came to $254.76.

Domestic violence: A 41-year-old Boardman man was booked at the Mahoning County Justice Center, Youngstown, on a domestic-violence charge. A Tippecanoe Road woman alleged her former husband threatened to kill her in a May situation that was part of ongoing problems between the two.

Domestic violence: A Boardman-Canfield Road man, 29, was charged after police responded to a fight. The man’s girlfriend alleged he struck her; the accuser had redness on her back, left shoulder and neck.

Criminal damaging: A 48-year-old Boardman man walking near Baymar Drive was picked up when officers learned he was wanted on a warrant from Austintown charging him with the crime.

Theft: A 24-year-old Youngstown man wanted on a theft charge was taken into custody when authorities responded to a fight on Shields Road.

Arrest: After stopping his vehicle near Midlothian Boulevard and Lake Park Road, police arrested a 22-year-old Youngstown man wanted on a probation-violation charge.
