Man killed in two-car crash in Mercer County

MERCER, Pa. — A man was killed in a two-car crash this afternoon on Pa. Route 173 near Sheakleyville Road in French Creek Township, Pennsylvania State Police in Mercer reported.

Andrew Pawlish, 81, of Carlton, Pa., was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash occurred at 2:05 p.m. as Pawlish was southbound on the road, crossed the center line and struck a northbound car, police said.

Maxwell Johnson, 42, of Kennerdell, Pa., was the driver of the other car. He was not injured, police said.
