Livi Steel holds off Express for 5-4 win
Simon Roofing kept Action Physical Therapy winless, 9-2.
STRUTHERS — Livi Steel scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth to break a 1-1 tie, then held off a rally in the seventh by the Youngstown Express to win, 5-4, in a Class B League game Saturday night.
Garret Herold had two hits and three RBIs while Dan Perkins had two singles for Livi (8-6). Zach Cuffman went the distance for the victory with eight strikeouts.
Sam Porter had three hits and scored a pair of runs for the Express (4-10), which scored three times in the top of the seventh before Cuffman (3-1) retired the last two batters.
Simon Roofing 9, Action 2
STRUTHERS — Evan Bollinger drove home a pair of runs with two hits for Simon Roofing.
Also for Simon (10-4), Matt Durkin had a single and double and Brett Cooper had two singles.
Bollinger also won his second game, allowing no earned runs in five innings with five strikeouts.
Torin Karsonovich had a pair of hits for Action Physical Therapy (0-14).

WARREN — An eight-run first inning keyed Flex Strut (7-2) to a 12-1 win over P.I. I. Express Friday.
Ryan Walters had a double and a triple and scored three times.
Starting pitcher Aaron Johnstone (4-0) pitched a two-hitter to pick up the win, Frank Rosile of Express (2-8) had two of the team’s three hits.
Cleats Club Seat Grille 7, Trumbull County Predators 2
WARREN — Cleats Club Seat Grille (5-5) built a 7-0 lead after three innings. Cleats’ Matt Vadas doubled in two runs in the third inning, while Nick Pompeo was 2 -for-3 with a double. The Predators (1-6) only managed four hits, two by Jarret Partridge who also scored once and had two stolen bases.
