Family to observe Zelina anniversary at dinner party


X POLAND — Following the Sunday worship service on June 22 at St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church in Campbell, a coffee social will take place in the church hall in celebration of the 60th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. John Zelina of Poland.

The celebration will also include a family dinner party that will take place at 2 p.m. at Nicolinni's Restaurant in Boardman.

Hosts for the events will be the couple’s family, the Rev. John and Barbara Matusiak of Wheaton, Ill.; Dr. Ramiro and Deborah Albarran of Venice, Fla.; Ron and Laurie Strollo of Columbus; and Dr. John and Maureen Koval of Poland. There are eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren in the family.

The former Olga Kucheruk became the bride of Mr. Zelina on June 5, 1948, at the church, where they are members.

Mrs. Zelina retired in 1989 from the Cornersburg Branch of Farmers National Bank, where she was a teller. She is a member of the Sisterhood and the Altar Society at the church.

Mr. Zelina served with the Army in chemical warfare during World War II. He retired as a foreman in the blooming mill at Youngstown Sheet and Tube in 1977, and was a supervisor in the money room at the main branch of Mahoning National Bank from 1978 until retiring in 1991. He is a member of St. John's "O" Club and the Orthodox Men’s Society.
