Failed engine causes Girard man’s plane to crash

BRACEVILLE — A Girard man was not hurt when his small plane crashed into some trees just south of the Braceville Airport.

James Fetherolf was flying into the airport about 3:30 p.m. Saturday when the engine on his Zenair Ch-701 stopped running, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.

The plane crashed into some trees and came to rest in some woods.

The crash is under investigation by the patrol.
