BOARDMAN — James Evans, chief programming officer for Meridian Services, has been honored with an Outstanding Counselor Award by Youngstown State University’s College of Education. The award is given annually to a YSU alumnus or alumna who has shown exceptional achievement and leadership in the field of counseling services.

YOUNGSTOWN — Peggy Gum of Youngstown has been recognized by Allstate Insurance Co. as one of the top agents in the nation for sales of auto, property and commercial insurance policies and financial planning services. Because of this, she earned an invitation to the 2008 Chairman’s Conference where she and other top agents were recognized. These Allstate agents also have been recognized as top agents and won Honor Ring awards: Todd Stovall, Austintown agency; Nikitas Kolidakis, Boardman; Jeffrey McDevitt, Aaron Stoeber and Ronald Tabus, Canfield; Virginia Ottenberg, Hubbard; Kerry Fairbanks, Niles; Christopher Graff, Struthers; and Albert Marwood, Girard.
