Streaks: The Thunder is 2-3 at home this season but both wins have come against Albany. Mahoning Valley is 7-6 all-time at the Chevrolet Centre. Manchester has won three straight following a six-game losing streak that started after their April win over the Thunder. Included in that streak is a 70-63 home win over Wilkes-Barre/Scranton May 31. The Wolves are 2-3 on the road this season.
Players to watch: Thunder QB Davon Vinson made his first start of the season at Quad City last Friday, completing 25-of-39 passes for 283 yards and seven TDs. He has 11 TD passes and just two interceptions in his first games with the team. … WR Clenton Rafe caught 10 passes for 164 yards and five TDs. … Mahoning Valley’s leading receiver, Henry Tolbert, has left the team for personal reasons and isn’t expected back this season. … The Thunder released PK is no longer with the team; Derek Schorejs, who was the team for three weeks earlier this season, is expected to be re-signed in time for Friday’s game. … Manchester QB James Pinkney is third in af2 in passing efficiency (124.44), completing 109-of-170 passes (64 percent) for 1,497 yards, 29 TDs and just three INTs. … WRs Emery Sammons (60 receptions, 872 yards, 18 TDs) and Bradley Chavez (60-792-18) are the Wolves’ top receivers.
