Woods is making his first start since having surgery on his left knee two days after the Masters. In January at Torrey Pines, he won the Buick Invitational by eight shots for his fourth straight title and sixth overall. Woods, Jack Nicklaus and Ben Hogan are the only players to win the U.S. Open and a PGA Tour event on the same course in the same season.
