In making his rounds, postal worker helps elderly South Side man

YOUNGSTOWN — A postal worker delivering mail to a house in the 1100 block of Inverness Avenue on the South Side called police after seeing an elderly man lying face down on the living room floor Tuesday afternoon.

The 91-year-old man did not respond when officers knocked at the door and window.

Firefighters were called in to pry open a door. An ambulance crew then attended to the man, described as disoriented. The man was taken to a hospital and his family notified.
