Baiamonte’s complete game powers R&J

STRUTHERS — Nick Baiamonte threw a complete game five-hitter as R&J Trucking defeated Action Physical Therapy 8-1 in a Class B League game Monday night at Cene Park.

Baiamonte (3-1) had 12 strikeouts. R&J’s (8-4) Matt Pitzulo hit a triple and two singles, and drove home a pair of runs while Brad Bates tripled and singled.

Owen Timlin had a pair of hits for Action (0-12).

Astro Falcons 13, Wharmby Sports 3

STRUTHERS — Astro Falcons (7-5) scored 13 runs on as many hits to win the game in six innings.

Mark Lapikas and Shane Wagner each had three hits and scored seven times between them. Sutton Whiting and Bryan Visingardi had two hits apiece.

Garen Ream had two hits for Wharmby (3-9) which committed six errors.

Youngstown AA

YOUNGSTOWN — Jim Jaskowak pitch a complete game three-hitter with six strikeouts to lead Youngstown Metros to a 9-0 win over New Hamburgh Monday at Pemberton Park.

The Metros scored four runs in the third inning and four more in the fourth to prevail. Dom Modarelli hit a double and drove in four runs. Matt Yarab hit a two-run single in the third inning.

Warren AA

WARREN — Tom Popadak pitched a two-hitter with eight strikeouts as Champion Marlins defeated P.I. I. Express, 10-0.

Trafis McCartney went 4-for-4, stole two bases and drove in two runs for Champion (6-2). Jake Goss had two hits and also stole two bases.
