August ceremony to join Lora Wiery, James Potashnik

X POLAND — Gary and Gerri Wiery, 7475 Elmland Ave., announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter, Lora Wiery, and James Potashnik, both of 3468 Wyoga Lake Road, No. 305, Cuyahoga Falls.

He is the son of Stephen and Jackie Potashnik of 300 Chatham Court, Howland.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Ohio State University with a bachelor’s degree in speech and hearing and a master’s degree in education. She is a fifth-grade teacher in Bedford City School district.

The prospective groom earned a bachelor’s degree in physics at John Carroll University in University Heights; a master’s degree in electrical engineering at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind.; and a master’s degree in physics at OSU. He is attending the University of Akron Law School and is employed as a patent engineer for Eschweiler and Associates LLC in Cleveland.

The couple have planned a summer wedding to take place in the presence of invited guests at 3:30 p.m. Aug. 9 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Youngstown. A reception, also by invitation, will follow at the Holiday Inn in Boardman.
