Groundbreaking event set for credit union

LIBERTY — Site clearing for the construction of DOY Federal Credit Union’s new building began Monday at 1500 Gypsy Lane. A groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m. today at the site.

James Bellavia, chief financial officer, said construction is scheduled to be completed before the end of the year, at which time the credit union will move from its current location, 348 W. Rayen Ave., Youngstown.

The new building’s floor plan will be unlike a traditional bank or credit union that typically has a teller area. Instead, tellers will have individual offices so that customers have more privacy when banking.

The credit union provides services for Diocese of Youngstown employees but has no affiliation with the diocese.
