Penn-Ohio Tigers post fourth victory, 6-0

CANFIELD — The Penn-Ohio Tigers won their fourth game Saturday night, defeating the Trumbull County Panthers, 6-0, at Canfield High Stadium.

The Tigers posted their second straight shutout, drawing raves from coach Rick Razzano.

“Our defense was outstanding again. It was a very physical game and we dominated the line of scrimmage.”

Rob Santee (Howland), Keith Baker (Crestview) Mike Rosa (Chaney) and Bill Adelman (Rootstown) led the charge.

“Our goal is to attack and put pressure on the opposing offense,” said defensive coordinator Bob Razzano.

Offensively, the Tigers were without quarterback Ray Marrow who was signed by the Mahoning Valley Thunder.

“We are very happy for Ray,” said Rick Razzano. “One of the main reasons we have minor league football is to give players the opportunity to go to the next level.”

Marrow was replaced by Troy Duhe (Crestview).

“I thought Troy did a great job in his first start for us,” said Rick Razzano.

“The Tigers’ lone touchdown was on a 2-yard run by halfback Gary Scott (Wilson).

The Tigers’ final home game is Saturday at 7 p.m. at Canfield High Stadium. The Tigers invite all youth sports teams who will be allowed in free. The kids will be allowed onto the field for pictures and autographs after the game. Teams should call Ali (330-240-6401) to reserve admission.
