Warren Pride event set for Saturday


WARREN — An offshoot of the 25-year-old National Night Out crime-prevent event, the Warren North West Neighborhood Association and two other neighborhood groups are sponsoring the second annual Warren Pride National Night Out from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday.

The event features a parade at 10 a.m. proceeding to City Hall from the intersection of High Street Northeast and Chestnut Avenue Northeast downtown, a variety of speakers and award presentations between 11 a.m. and noon at the Warren Amphitheater, a children’s costume contest (patriotic or crime-prevention theme) at 12:30, and crafts and dunking booth for city officials from 1 to 4 p.m. in Perkins Park.

The 1970s and 1980s tribute bands Victory Boulevard and Midnight Special will perform for free at the amphitheater between 5 p.m. and 11 p.m.
