Sentencings

Judge Francis Fornelli of Mercer County Common Pleas Court sentenced these people last week to either jail time or probation. According to court documents:

Eric Crislip, 39, formerly of Buckeye Drive, Sharpsville, six months to one year in jail for theft by unlawful taking and driving under the influence, both misdemeanors, and ordered to make restitution. On Feb. 14, 2006, he took pieces of stainless steel from Integrated Fabrication and Machine Inc., of Canal Street, Sharpsville. The steel was valued at less than $50.

Stephen Slater, 46, no address listed, one month to one year in jail for recklessly endangering another person and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was granted work release. On Sept. 22, 2007, while traveling on Billy Boyd Road and Pa. Route 358, New Vernon Township, he refused to let a woman he knew out of his vehicle after her repeated requests. When she tried to get out at a stop sign, he accelerated, causing her to fall out of the vehicle and be run over by it. She suffered a crushed pelvis, back and leg injuries. He also possessed a marijuana pipe when apprehended.

Crystal Watterson, 30, of Sharon-Mercer Road, Mercer, one-year probation and ordered to make restitution for theft by unlawful taking, a misdemeanor. She took a watch valued at $7.87 from a display case that contained an anti-theft sensor and placed it on her wrist Oct. 15, 2007, at Wal-Mart, 1275 N. Hermitage Road, Hermitage.
