Burglaries continue at Hotel Conneaut

CONNEAUT LAKE, Pa. (AP) — The hotel at a financially strapped amusement park in Crawford County is attracting the wrong kind of people — burglars.

Authorities say the 105-year-old Hotel Conneaut at Conneaut Lake Park has been burglarized at least six times since the resort and historic amusement park shut down in the spring of 2007.

Operation manager George Deshner says the most recent break-in was discovered Saturday. He says a neighbor saw someone loading items from the hotel into a car.

Deshner says a computer, monitor and printer were stolen.

The facility, about 110 miles north of Pittsburgh, is closed because of a lack of money. The amusement park has not operated since the 2006 season.

The park’s boat docks and public campground remain open.
