NEW YORK — Janel McCarville’s layup with 6.4 seconds left lifted New York over Los Angeles. The Sparks got Lisa Leslie, Candace Parker, and DeLisha Milton-Jones back from their one game suspensions for their involvement in Tuesday’s altercation with the Detroit Shock. McCarville led New York with 15 points and Shameka Christon added 13. Milton-Jones led the Sparks with 19 points and Leslie added 16 points and 13 rebounds.
Lynx 78, Silver Stars 68
MINNEAPOLIS — Seimone Augustus scored 20 points, Lindsey Harding added a season-high 13 for Minnesota. Playing without injured rookie Candice Wiggins, the Lynx (13-12) got their usual production from Augustus, who will join the U.S. Olympic team when the WNBA takes its one-month hiatus for the Beijing Games. Harding went 4-for-6 from the floor and was a perfect 4-for-4 from the line to help the Lynx. Sophia Young led San Antonio (17-9) with 21 points while Becky Hammon and Ann Wauters had 18 and 15 points, respectively.

ATLANTA — Taj McWilliams-Franklin had 13 points and 11 rebounds in Washington’s win. Alana Beard finished with 12 points, and Monique Currie and Bernice Mosby each had 11 for Washington, which has won two of three to improve to 2-1 under interim coach Jessie Kenlaw. The expansion Dream have lost four straight and have the WNBA’s worst record at 3-23.
