Ticket sales for YSU football set


They go on sale Aug. 1 at the university’s athletic ticket office. About 90 players are set to report to camp Aug. 3.

YOUNGSTOWN — Single game tickets for the 2008 Youngstown State football season will go on sale Aug. 1 at the ticket office in Stambaugh Stadium.

Tickets are $14 for reserved seats and $10 for general admission. Fans can also purchase football season tickets until Sept. 12, the day prior to the home opener against Central State.

The ticket office is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and is located in the north end of the stadium.

Tailgate tents

Area companies, groups or organizations can reserve a tailgate tent in the for the upcoming season. All tents come with a parking pass and groups receive special group-ticket discounts. Tent locations are available for games against Central State, Southern Illinois and Northern iowa.

Bus trip to Ohio State

Pan Atlas Travel has organized a motorcoach trip to Youngstown State’s game at Ohio Aug. 30.

The same-day round-trip transportation costs $52; a game ticket is not included. Reservations can be made by contact Tracey Innocent at Pan Atlas Travel at (330) 941-2391.

Student tickets

Current YSU students can purchase their ticket for the Ohio State game Aug. 4. Tickets are $70 apiece and will be sold from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Preseason practice

Approximately 90 players are set to report to camp Aug. 3. The first practice is Aug. 4 at 7 p.m. in Stambaugh Stadium. Photo day is Aug. 14 and “Meet the Team” night is planned for Aug. 21. The steak fry is Aug. 19.

Radio show

The “Penguin Playbook” radio show will be held at O’Charley’s in Boardman. The first show is scheduled for Aug. 25 and will be broadcast on WKBN-AM (570), with Bob Hannon and coach Jon Heacock.
