New GM workers finish training
LORDSTOWN — The final group of new General Motors workers finished training today as the company’s Lordstown complex gears up for the addition of a third shift Aug. 3.
About 185 workers completed their week-long training today, making nearly 1,400 people who have gone through the procedure in the past six weeks.
About 700 of the trainees have been new hires. About 400 are transfers from Delphi Corp. and other GM plants, while 300 are temporary workers.
