X YOUNGSTOWN — Amy Evans, a daughter of Ron and Nancy Evans, and Eric Diefenderfer, a son of Ron and Trish Diefenderfer, all of Austintown, were united in marriage June 21 at Martin Luther Lutheran Church during a 1:30 p.m. ceremony solemnized by the Rev. Paul Heine.

The couple were honored during a reception at St. Mary’s Assumption Social Center before leaving on a wedding trip to Costa Rica. Upon return they live in Canfield.

Adorned with pearls, crystals and re-embroidered lace, the bride’s strapless white satin princess-line gown featured a semicathedral train.

Cornflower-blue gowns were worn by the honor attendant, Kim Rager, and the bridesmaids, Tara Evans, Jen Evans, Dana Fellows and Jen Ortiz. Junior bridesmaid was Jordan Evans, and flower girl was Emily Curtis.

Serving as best man was Sean Diefenderfer, and groomsmen were Scott Evans, Gary Evans, Patrick Diefenderfer and Dennis O’Hara. Ring bearer was Tyler Evans.

The bride graduated summa cum laude from Youngstown State University with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood and special education. She is an intervention specialist with Austintown School District.

The groom is a science teacher with Boardman School District. He graduated cum laude from YSU with a bachelor’s in middle childhood education and is pursuing a master’s degree at Walsh University.
