Truck and Jeep Fest rumbles onto the Canfield Fairgrounds
CANFIELD — Legendary monster trucks Grave Digger and Bigfoot will be the main attractions when the Truck and Jeep Fest returns to Canfield Fairgrounds this weekend.
Rock crawls, mud pits and nonstop 4-wheel-drive action are also on the agenda for the family-oriented two-day event. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday. Registration for those who want to participate will be each morning beginning at 8 a.m.
Grave Digger and Bigfoot — two of the world’s most famous monster trucks — will be matched in side-by-side drag racing and in axle-wrenching freestyle demonstrations both days. Joining them will be other top monster trucks, such as Raminator and Rammunition.
The Tough Trucks Challenge will be on an obstacle course, with drivers racing against the clock.
Other activities include monster truck rides and a burnout competition.
Off-roaders will enjoy the Rock Crawl Challenge, in which Jeeps must maneuver over a boulder-strewn obstacle course; and the Mud Bog Challenge, in which 4-by-4s measure their skill in mud pits.
The Performance Marketplace will return to Truck and Jeep Fest, in which more than 130 manufacturers will demonstrate and sell their products.
New to the Fest is the Toyota Trail Teams Ride and Drive Obstacle Course. It offers all licensed drivers an opportunity to learn to drive a well-equipped 4 x 4 over a multiobstacle course with an off-road expert giving guidance, instructions and driving tips throughout.
At the main stage Sunday afternoon, the Miss Truck Jeep Fest competition will take place.
