HUBBARD

July 18

Assault: A man reported having been assaulted while in the 100 block of Hillcrest Avenue.

Criminal mischief: A woman reported several signs were torn down at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3767, 710 W. Liberty St.

Theft: A woman in the 100 block of Tulip Drive reported lawn ornaments stolen.

July 19

Criminal damaging: A woman in the 300 block of Grandview Avenue reported damage to her phone lines and an air-conditioning unit.

Assault: A man told police of being pushed and shoved while at a field in the 1600 block of Myron Street.

Theft: A man in the 100 block of Viola Avenue reported items stolen from his yard.

July 21

Theft: A vehicle’s license plate was stolen in the 100 block of West Liberty Street.

Criminal damaging: A worker with a Shell True North gas station, 204 W. Liberty St., reported damage.

LIBERTY

July 17

Theft: Police issued a summons to a Campbell woman, 24, charging her. She was accused of stealing $44 worth of hygiene and feminine products from Giant Eagle, 4700 Belmont Ave.

Domestic violence: A 46-year-old Euclid Boulevard woman was charged after a man alleged the woman bit him, struck the accuser in the face and threatened him. The man had a bite mark on his back and a swollen left eye.

Vandalism: A man in the 3500 block of Belmont Avenue found on his pickup truck a smashed driver’s-side window.

July 18

Arrest: A vehicle registration check on Church Hill Road resulted in the arrest of a Niles man, 44, on charges of having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, driving with expired license plates and under suspension, operating a vehicle impaired and having no operator’s license.

July 19

Assault: A James Lane woman told police another woman twice pushed and shoved the accuser against a vehicle.

Theft: A woman took a $13 case of lemon drinks from Dollar General, 4425 Logan Way.

Menacing: A Trumbull Court woman said a 27-year-old Washington, D.C., man was in town and threatened to take her 3-year-old son if he weren’t allowed to see the child.

July 20

Theft: A Girard man reported the theft of a $180 car trailer from a yard in the 1200 block of Shannon Road.

Burglary: A Roosevelt Drive man returned to discover someone had entered through an unlocked bedroom window. Stolen were medications and a package of steaks.

Arrest: A traffic stop near Hadley Avenue led to a 40-year-old woman’s arrest when authorities learned she was wanted on a warrant.

July 21

Bad check: Officers responded to a complaint on Tuttle Drive, where they arrested a 27-year-old Girard man wanted on a warrant from Mahoning County charging him with passing bad checks.

Drugs: A 34-year-old Youngstown man was pulled over on Belmont Avenue and charged with drug abuse and operating a vehicle impaired. A bag of suspected marijuana was in his pocket, police said.

GIRARD

July 20

Theft: A man in the 500 block of Park Avenue reported two speakers and two amplifiers stolen from his car, for a loss of about $4,150.

Theft: A woman staying at a Ward Avenue residence reported a 37-inch TV, an air-conditioning unit and a wristwatch missing as she prepared to move.

Domestic violence: A Girard girl, 13, faced charges of domestic violence and being an unruly juvenile after her mother alleged the teen threatened to set the mother on fire while being disciplined.

Recovered property: Police found near St. Clair and Wilson avenues a stolen 1990 Chevrolet Silverado truck with its steering column damaged.

July 21

Drugs: Officers responded to a suspicious vehicle near a U.S. Route 422 store and charged a Girard man, 53, with drug abuse. Two bags of suspected cocaine totaling about 1 gram were found, they said.

Domestic violence: A Girard woman, 29, and a 33-year-old Austintown man were charged. The man alleged the woman spit on him during an argument; the woman alleged he grabbed and pushed her, and struck her in the mouth.

Arrest: Authorities picked up a 14-year-old Vienna boy in the 30 block of East Second Street. He was charged with being a fugitive from justice.

July 22

Bad check: An employee with Mohn’s Auto Service, 716 N. State St., said a 29-year-old Niles man bought tires with a $298 check later returned for insufficient funds.
