Theft/forgery: A Salem man found out someone altered a receipt after he ate at a Boardman-Poland Road restaurant when he discovered an extra $15 charge on his statement.

Theft: An employee with a Boardman-Canfield Road business reported an MP3 player, change and other property missing from his car.

Domestic violence: A 59-year-old Warren man was picked up in the 7400 block of Westview Drive after officers got a report of a suspicious person sitting on a front porch. He was wanted on a warrant.

Aggravated menacing: An employee with a Boardman-Canfield Road attorney’s office reported someone called him about 64 times and made a variety of baseless accusations against him, and threatened to destroy a car.

Theft: Four people left Denny’s Restaurant, 154 Boardman-Canfield Road, without paying food bills totaling $45.

Arrest: Police responded to a possible assault near Southern Boulevard, where they took into custody an 18-year-old Boardman man wanted on a charge of contempt of court.

Theft by deception: An Applecrest Drive man reported paying $800 for work to his residence that was never finished.

Theft: A Canfield man’s wallet was removed from a locker at a McClurg Road business.

Criminal mischief: A Terrace Drive woman reported someone tossed eggs onto her property and left a dead squirrel on her swimming pool cover.

Misuse of a credit card: A Waggamon Circle man found out someone made more than $700 worth of fraudulent charges online with his debit card.

July 18

Citation: Two 18-year-old Boardman men were cited on drug-possession charges when, police said, suspected marijuana was found at a Cook Avenue apartment.

Arrest: Authorities arrested a 36-year-old Pittsburgh man on Market Street. He was wanted on a warrant from Columbiana County charging him with failure to appear for trial.

Fraud: A worker with a Market Street business reported his wallet stolen, and that a credit card was used four times without authorization at another Boardman store.

Theft: A man stole $20 worth of merchandise from Marc’s, 7121 Tiffany Blvd., before fleeing.

Fraud: An Afton Avenue woman told authorities she received a letter claiming she won $57,000, but would first have to cash a check and return $4,887 to get the prize.

Theft: A woman reported someone entered a car belonging to her father, of Forestridge Drive, and removed a $1,000 set of golf clubs.

Theft: A Youngstown woman’s wallet was taken from the roof of her vehicle after she dined at a Boardman-Poland Road eatery.

Drugs: A Poland girl, 16, was taken into custody on Doral Drive, charged with drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia after police responded to a shoplifting situation at a nearby store. Suspected contraband and narcotics were in her purse, officers said.

Theft/criminal damaging: An Appleridge Circle man reported damage to his Jeep Cherokee’s dashboard, as well as a $120 compact-disc player missing.

Domestic violence: A Youngstown man, 18, was picked up on a charge of domestic violence (threats) after his former girlfriend alleged he threatened to harm her, and called claiming he had forced his way into her apartment.

July 19

Arrest: A Lowellville man, 34, faced charges of attempted burglary and attempted auto theft after officers got a call regarding someone trying to kick in the front door to an Arden Boulevard residence. The homeowner also said the man tried to steal her car.

Citation: Police checked the welfare of a Glendale Avenue woman, 24, and cited her after saying they found a suspected marijuana cigarette in her vehicle.

Criminal damaging: Police said someone in a vehicle admitted throwing fireworks out the window, damaging the paint of another car traveling on Market Street.

Auto theft: A man left a Glenwood Avenue church and noticed his 1994 Olds Cutlass Ciera missing.

Thefts: Two men stole $550.50 worth of clothing from Macy’s in the Southern Park Mall. In an unrelated case, an 18-year-old Liberty Township man was charged, accused in the theft of $64 worth of merchandise from the store.

Attempted burglary: Someone tried to push open a bedroom window to enter a Shields Road apartment.

Arson: A worker for Giant Eagle, 476 Boardman-Canfield Road, reported someone lighted a fire in a restroom.

Theft: A man’s 10-speed bicycle was stolen in the 7600 block of Glenwood Avenue.

July 20

Criminal damaging: Eggs were thrown at a Glendale Avenue home.

Breaking and entering: Someone entered the unlocked garage door to a Kentwood Drive residence before taking from a vehicle an in-dash stereo and subwoofer box, for a $700 loss.

Aggravated menacing: A Sciota Avenue man reported a woman threatened to kill him as part of a series of threatening calls regarding her daughter.

Possible fraud: A worker for a Boardman-Poland Road store told police she feared an elderly customer might be the victim of a scam. The woman had sent a $595 moneygram to someone in Jamaica and requested another be sent for $5,000, the employee said.

Arrest: A 34-year-old man was arrested near Hillman Way on a warrant from Ashtabula County charging him with failure to appear in court on a charge of failing to pay child support.

Arrest: A Youngstown man, 34, pulled over near Midlothian Boulevard was arrested when police learned he was wanted on a probation-violation charge.

Assault/damage: A Shadyside Drive woman alleged her boyfriend pushed her out of bed and threw a mounted deer head, striking her in the back of the head, during an argument before breaking her camcorder and digital camera. The woman suffered a lump on her head.
