Precious Paws Salon to show off grooming van

BOARDMAN — Precious Paws Salon has added a mobile grooming salon that will come to pet owners’ homes.

The business at 1235 Boardman-Canfield Road will hold an open house from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday to show off the van, called Precious Paws II.

The 15-year-old business is owned by Tina Longo and Debbie Nespeca.

Falling oil prices help lower gas costs in Ohio

COLUMBUS — Ohio gasoline prices have dropped about 14 cents in the last week amid plunging oil prices.

Monday’s statewide average for regular is $3.91, according to AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. That’s down from just under $4.05 per gallon one week ago.

Among the state’s major metro areas, prices are lowest in Dayton, where regular is averaging $3.86.

The Mahoning Valley has the highest average price at $3.95. The local average has dropped 5 cents in the past month.

AK Steel plans to expand production at Pa. plant

BUTLER, Pa. — AK Steel plans to spend $21 million to expand production of certain types of steel at its plant in Butler County.

The West Chester, Ohio-based steelmaker expects the expansion to be complete by late next year. The project includes installing new equipment at the company’s plant near Butler.

The specialty steels produced at the plant are used in high-efficiency power generators and electrical transformers.
