Portable potty vandalized at weekend arts festival

YOUNGSTOWN — A man who rented two portable rest rooms for a weekend arts festival downtown discovered that the one placed on Phelps Street near Commerce Street had been vandalized.

Reports show the plastic structure had been cut and scarred, the small vent windows cut out, the door lock and inside handle broken, and profanities had been carved on the interior walls. Police suspect a box cutter or pocket knife was used. The damage was discovered Monday.
