Salem plans to provide fire dispatching service to Beloit

SALEM — A special Salem council meeting has been set for 4:30 p.m. Monday to approve providing fire dispatching service to the village of Beloit.

Salem Mayor Jerry Wolford has agreed to enter into the agreement starting Aug. 1. He said that Beloit was one of seven volunteer fire departments that will need dispatching services after Med Corp ends its services July 31.

Wolford said the city would provide dispatching services to other fire departments, if needed.
