Starbucks to close nine stores in Ohio

SEATTLE — Starbucks Corp. has named all 600 company-owned stores it plans to close in a bid to boost its business and weed out unprofitable locations.

Nine of the stores are in Ohio, including one in Columbus and one in suburban Westerville that were marked for closure in an announcement late last week.

Ohio locations added to Starbucks’ shutdown list include four more in Columbus and its suburbs, one store in Maumee near Toledo, one in the Cleveland suburb of Richmond Heights and one in St. Clairsville in eastern Ohio.

Parker Aerospace lands contract with Bombardier

CLEVELAND — A division of Cleveland-based Parker Hannifin Corp. has landed a 10-year contract potentially worth $3.5 billion to supply flight control systems to Canada’s Bombardier Inc.

The companies announced Friday that Parker Aerospace will develop and provide high-tech systems for new Bombardier wide-body aircraft. The cockpit controls will rely on computers instead of more conventional pulleys and rods used to adjust and control an aircraft’s altitude.

Bombardier says it expects the new technology to provide increased reliability.
