Installation ceremony highlights meeting of South Side Lions Club


YOUNGSTOWN — The installation of officers who will head Youngstown South Side Lions Club during the upcoming season was a highlight of the group’s July 10 meeting at Jumpin’ Jack’s Chicken Shack on Market Street.

Past District Governor Tom Kirkbride of Lisbon Lions Club conducted the ceremony, and Peter Noll was inducted as president.

Noll, who will serve his second consecutive one-year term as president, is an assistant vice president at the Niles office of Farmers National Bank. He lives in Boardman with his wife, Amy, and sons, Jacob and Evan.

Seated as his associate officers were Robert O’Leary, first vice president; Melanie R. Smith, second vice president; Ronald Clifton, secretary; Dr. John Beal, treasurer; William Cooper, Lion tamer; Jack McCann, tail twister; and Robert Whited, membership chairman.

Named to the board of directors were Ralph Fagert, Ellie DeMatteo, Ron Fagert and Aubrey Blews.

The club was chartered in 1951.
