MV HOSPITAL

MV HOSPITAL

Reasons for sale

Mahoning Valley Hospital started in 1999 at the former South Side Hospital and expanded in 2003 with the opening of the Trumbull Campus located in Forum Health Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren. Reasons for the sale of MVH to Progressive Healthcare include:

Selling to a national company, which is better positioned to compete with other national companies providing the same type of hospital services, enhances the future viability of the hospital.

A lot of consolidation is anticipated in the industry because of a moratorium on new long-term, acute-care beds means companies can’t expand by building.

Progressive’s assurance that employees would be taken care of; that physicians would stay actively involved in patient care; that MVH would continue to serve the Medicaid population; and that Progressive would maintain the high quality of care standards begun by MVH.
