Sept. wedding set by Gina Mavrikis and Adam Cox

X BOARDMAN — Gina Lynn Mavrikis, of Columbus, and Glen Adam Cox, also of Columbus, are engaged and planning a September wedding, her parents, George and Janet Mavrikis, of Boardman, announce.

The prospective groom is the son of Glen and Janice Cox of Dayton.

The couple have planned an open ceremony for 2 p.m. Sept. 13 at St. Patrick Church in Youngstown. Invitations will be sent for a reception that evening at DiVieste’s Banquet Center in Warren.

The bride-elect obtained a bachelor’s degree in biology from Youngstown State University. She attends Ohio State University, where she is working toward a doctorate in immunology in the department of molecular virology, immunology and medical genetics.

Mr. Cox earned a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and a master’s degree in chemistry at YSU. He also attends OSU, where he is working toward a doctorate in organic chemistry.
