NABF tourney begins today at Cene

STRUTHERS — Ten teams will start play today in the National Amateur Baseball Federation (NABF) Junior (16 & under) regional tournament at Cene Park.

The teams will play in two five-team divisions of pool play with each guaranteed at least four games over the weekend. The top two teams from each division will play in a single elimination finals Sunday. There are three teams from the Youngstown Little b League — Rondinelli Tuxedo, Livi Steel, and Astro Falcons.

In group A are Northern Ohio Hurricanes, Kinect Capitals, Rondinelli, Livi Steel, and Andy’s 9ers. In group B are Ohio Thunder Orange, Barberton Nomads, Astro Falcons, Columbus Big Katz, and Blue Devils.

In first round Group A Thursday Northern Ohio Hurricanes vs Livi Steel on Cene 1 at 5 p.m. and Kinect Capitals vs Rondinelli on Cene 1 at 7:30.

Andy’s 9ers drew a bye. In Group B Ohio Thunder Orange vs Columbus Big Katz on Cene 2 at 5 p.m. and Barberton Nomads vs Astro Falcons on Cene 2 at 7:30 p.m.

The senior NABF (18 under) will have their draw tonight for the tournament to start on Friday also at Cene Park.
