Erie woman, 28, tried on charges she raped boy, 11
ERIE, Pa. (AP) — Jury selection is set to begin in the trial of a 28-year-old Erie woman jailed on charges she repeatedly raped an 11-year-old boy.
Erie County District Attorney Brad Foulk says the incidents happened between March and August 2007, before the boy turned 12.
Carrie Dana is charged with rape of a child because the boy was under 13 at the time. She is also charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, indecent assault and corruption of minors.
Authorities say she told an Erie County child welfare worker she had sex with the boy. Because of his age, the boy can’t legally consent to have sex under the law.
Foulk says the incidents occurred in Dana’s home.
Dana has pleaded not guilty. Her attorney has attempted to cast doubt on the boy’s credibility.
