SINGERS

Youngstown Superstar Vocal Contest. Kontinuous Jams Music, 6911 Market St., Boardman. Auditions for children Grade 4 through adults, must register online at www.youngstownsuperstar.com, or by phone at (330) 788-9666. Registrants will be required to audition a cappella (voice only) for a panel of judges. Final competition nights are Oct. 17 and 18 and open to the public at Kontinuous Jams Music.

MUSICIANS

Cleveland Philharmonic Orchestra. Auditions are ongoing for section strings: violin, viola, cello and bass are being held for the 2007-08 season. Rehearsals are 7:30-10 Thursday at the Tri-C’s Metropolitan Campus Auditorium in downtown Cleveland. Audition requirements are one solo piece and one orchestral excerpt of your choice.
