Work on stadium to be completed before first home game

STRUTHERS — Construction on Phases 2 and 3 of Struthers Wildcat Stadium is on schedule to be complete before the first home game of the season Aug. 22, according to the board of education.
The $910,700 project includes demolishing the wood, metal and concrete stands on the west side of the field and replacing them with aluminum bleachers.
During its meeting Tuesday, the board awarded a $109,200 contract to Kreidler Construction to build a 24- by 48-foot addition to the east wall of Struthers Middle School, which will be used for storage.
The board also hired an assistant principal and three teachers. They are: Christina Hughes, middle school associate principal; Patricia Romeo, high school French teacher and yearbook adviser; Dyana Davanzo, high school and middle school family and consumer science teacher; and Sarah Herrholtz, high school art teacher.
