Calzaghe: Pavlik may be my next opponent

WBO super middleweight champion Joe Calzaghe said he will not vacate that title and might fight Kelly Pavlik at 168 pounds after his fight with Roy Jones Jr. in September.

"I still feel young," he told writer Ron Lewis. "If I beat Jones, I might move back down to super middleweight to face Kelly Pavlik."

Calzaghe's former promoter, Frank Warren, had tried to arrange a Pavlik-Calzaghe fight in September, but Calzaghe fired Warren and opted to face Jones instead.

Pavlik's trainer, Jack Loew, called Calzaghe's quotes "great news," but cautioned that the fight may not happen in the next few months.

"We offered him this time and he said no, so we'll probably face [IBF middleweight champ] Arthur Abraham next," Loew said.
