July 12

Bad check: A 37-year-old North Jackson man surrendered to police on a felony warrant charging him with passing a bad check. He was accused of writing a $1,566 check at Carter Lumber, 615 Boardman-Canfield Road, that was returned for insufficient funds.

Robbery: A Boardman woman, 45, faced charges of robbery, criminal trespassing and possession of drug paraphernalia after a tent and a set of windshield wipers were stolen from Wal-Mart, 1300 Doral Drive. The suspect fought with security personnel, police said.

Drugs: A New Middletown man and a Boardman woman were cited near Market Street after a police canine revealed possible drugs during a traffic stop. Two suspected marijuana cigarettes and a suspected marijuana pipe were found, the report showed.

Burglary: Someone entered the unlocked front door to a residence in the 1000 block of Zander Drive before taking 10 Vicodin tablets, jewelry and $400.

Forgery: A Jaguar Drive man discovered a personal check missing that was cashed for $125 at a Boardman credit union.

Criminal mischief: Someone tossed an object, striking a window to a Windsor Road residence.

Theft: A worker for a Doral Drive business reported $40 and a credit card missing from her purse.

Misuse of a credit card: A Boardman woman reported her stolen debit card was used to buy cigarettes and gasoline at a Boardman-Poland Road station.

Theft: A man in a red Toyota sport-utility vehicle pumped and failed to pay for $57.76 worth of gasoline before leaving a BP station, 310 Boardman-Canfield Road.

Arrest: Officers picked up a 35-year-old Boardman man in the 400 block of Boardman-Canfield Road who was wanted on a probation-violation charge.

Possible theft: A temporary license plate was lost or stolen from a vehicle in the 800 block of Boardman-Poland Road.

Weapon: A 21-year-old Canfield man faced a felony count of carrying a concealed weapon after being pulled over near Glenwood Avenue for running a red light. A .22-caliber handgun with six rounds was found, police said.

Theft: A West Middlesex, Pa., woman reported her cell phone stolen in the 7300 block of California Avenue.

July 13

Aggravated menacing: A Boardman man, 38, was charged with aggravated menacing, resisting arrest, vandalism and disorderly conduct after authorities responded to someone threatening to kill customers at a Tiffany Boulevard business. Police had to use a Taser on the intoxicated man, who also acted violently and damaged a cruiser while in custody, the report said.

Drugs: A 50-year-old Campbell man was charged with possession of drug-abuse instruments during a traffic stop on Market Street. A hypodermic needle was found, officers said.

Theft: A man, 44, and a 42-year-old woman, both of Boardman, were charged with theft and complicity to theft, respectively, after being accused of stealing scrap metal from DJ Builders Inc., 5795 Southern Blvd.

Breaking and entering: A man in the 700 block of Wildwood Drive noticed his garage had been entered. Stolen was a $200, 21-speed mountain bike.

Theft: A woman discovered a children’s bicycle stolen from her Southern Boulevard home.

Theft: A motorist pumped $20 worth of gasoline and left a BP station, 310 Boardman-Canfield Road, without paying.

Assault/theft: A Largo, Fla., man suffered cuts to his lip and left side when he was punched during an argument with another driver near Glenwood Avenue. He also reported damage to his windshield as well as the theft of a shirt.

Theft: Two 17-year-old Boardman girls were charged, accused in the theft of about $70 worth of clothing from Wal-Mart.

Criminal damaging: A vehicle in the 7400 block of Spartan Drive had its rear windshield smashed, as well as its driver’s side and interior damaged.

July 14

Drugs: A Boardman woman, 20, faced a felony charge of drug abuse (heroin) during a traffic stop. A small bag containing 0.056 ounce of suspected heroin was found, police said.

Aggravated menacing: A Boardman woman told police another woman threatened to run over and harm the accuser as part of ongoing problems between the two.

Arrests: A vehicle registration check near U.S. Route 224 led to the arrest of a 20-year-old Youngstown man wanted on a probation-violation charge. A 21-year-old Youngstown woman was charged with obstructing official business and disorderly conduct when, police said, she swore at officers, refused to comply and interfered with the investigation.

Criminal damaging: A Youngstown man reported that during an argument with another driver near Tippecanoe Road, the other driver tossed a bottle at his car, causing a dent on the driver’s-side door.

Theft: A Boardman man reported the theft of his wallet, and that a debit card was used without authorization.
