BOARDMAN — A Brookwood Road man who told police he was the superhero “The Hulk” faces several charges after police were called to a Tiffany South bar — where the man was accused of threatening to kill all the bar patrons.

George F. Haley, 38, is charged with aggravated menacing, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, all misdemeanors, and felony vandalism. He was housed in the Mahoning County Jail and scheduled to appear in Mahoning County Court today.

Police were called about 12:30 a.m. Sunday to the English Pub, where Haley was accused of making the threat. When officers arrived, they saw a man lying on the ground near the bar’s patio entrance. He stood up and a police report described him as very intoxicated and unsteady on his feet.

As an officer approached and tried to escort the 6-foot, 300-plus-pound Haley to the front of a cruiser to pat him down for weapons, he tensed up. When told to calm down, Haley started to growl and scream that he was The Hulk, the report said.

He pulled away as officers tried to handcuff him. He yelled, “I am the superhero,” according to the police report.

Police used a Taser to control Haley, handcuffed him and placed him in a cruiser.

While traveling to the jail, Haley kicked the car’s windows and yelled that Gallactica, another superhero, was going “to come and kill all of the earthly beings,” the report said.
