Major League Baseball All-Star Game (8 p.m., Fox): How fitting that, in its final year, Yankee Stadium plays host to baseball’s glittery All-Star Game. Jack Buck and Tim McCarver are on hand to call the contest, which gets under way immediately after a special parade of stars.
“Wipeout” (8 p.m., ABC): “Wipeout,” a goofy reality-competition series, airs its fourth episode tonight, and with impressive ratings the first few weeks, it looks as if it might be the summer’s breakout hit. Each week, 24 contestants (ordinary folks, all) compete on an “extreme” obstacle course, including such contraptions as the sucker-punch wall and dreadmill. When (not if) they fail to negotiate an obstacle, they fall off, plunging into muddy water. The last person standing takes home $50,000.
