Beaver trustees laud retired fire Chief Gary Borman
NORTH LIMA — Beaver Township trustees have recognized former fire Chief Gary Borman for nearly 10 years of full-time service to the township.
Borman was named the township’s first fire chief after serving as a part-time firefighter for several years. The township presented Borman with a plaque at a meeting Monday and credited him for advancing the fire department. Township officials said Borman helped the township acquire most of the equipment now being used by safety personnel.
Borman, whose retirement was effective June 30, continues serving as a firefighter and an emergency medical service technician on a voluntary basis.
