WASHINGTON— Nikki Blue scored a career-high 13 points, including two key free throws in the final minute as Washington held off Connecticut. Taj McWilliams-Franklin had 11 points and 10 rebounds and Nakia Sanford added nine points and 11 rebounds for the Mystics (8-12), who won despite making only two baskets in the fourth quarter. Lindsay Whalen scored a career high-tying 33 points for the Sun (13-8), who shot just 33 percent from the field. Rookie Amber Holt had 10 points and was the only other Connecticut player with more than six.
Sky 79, Dream 66
CHICAGO — Jia Perkins and Candice Dupree scored 18 points apiece to help Chicago snap a four-game losing streak. Chasity Melvin added 10 points, Tye’sha Fluker had eight, and K.B. Sharp and Armintie Price seven each for the Sky (6-13). Dupree also had four steals. Katie Feenstra had a season-high 21 points for Atlanta (2-19), which had won two of three after starting the season 0-17. Jennifer Lacy and Betty Lennox each scored 11 while Kristin Haynie added nine.
