Reception honors the Simones for 50th anniversary
X NEW MIDDLETOWN — The 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Paul T. Simone Sr. of New Middletown was celebrated July 6 during a reception at Mr. Anthony’s Banquet Center in Boardman.
Hosts for the event were family members Paul Simone Jr., Frank and Kristie Simone, Christine Simone, and David and Cara Simone. Among those participating were a grandson, Frankie Simone, and a stepgranddaugher, Lauren Weathers.
The former Shirley A. Millhorn, of Wintersville, and Mr. Simone, of Steubenville, were united in marriage July 5, 1958, at St. Anthony Church in Steubenville, the day after they graduated with teaching degrees from the College of Steubenville, now known as the University of Steubenville.
Mrs. Simone taught briefly before raising her children. Since then, she has worked in market research for the past 25 years.
Mr. Simone retired after teaching for 35 years in the Mohawk Area School District in Bessemer, Pa.
The Simones are members of Holy Family Church in Poland.
