Dentistry degree

Jennifer Marie Mateja of New Castle, Pa., has received her dentistry degree from the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Dental Medicine. She graduated in the top 10 in her class.

While pursuing her degree at Pitt, she was involved with numerous outreach and teaching programs. She is a member of the following dental student professional organizations: American Dental Education Association, Delta Sigma Delta Dental Fraternity, American Student Dental Association, American Dental Political Action Committee, American Dental Association of Pennsylvania, Pediatric Dental Society, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and the Student Research Group.

Jennifer Marie Mateja of New Castle, Pa., has received her dentistry degree from the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Dental Medicine. She graduated in the top 10 in her class.

Dr. Mateja was elected to the national ASDA and served as a consultant on professional issues during her junior year. She has received numerous awards, including the Dr. Lee P. Johns Award of Distinction for Excellence in Periodontics and Preventive Dentistry, the Dr. Robert Rapp Award of Distinction for Pediatric Dentistry, and she was elected to the Omicron Kappa Upsilon honorary dental society.

Dr. Mateja is a 2000 class valedictorian of Neshannnock High School and a 2004 summa cum laude graduate of Youngstown State University. She has been accepted at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine to continue her education in periodontics while pursuing her master’s degree in public health.

She is the daughter of Thomas and Elaine Mateja of New Castle.

Katie Marie Vincer has graduated from Ohio State University’s College of Dentistry with her doctorate of dental surgery.

Katie Marie Vincer has graduated from Ohio State University’s College of Dentistry with her doctorate of dental surgery.

Dr. Vincer is the daughter of Robin and Jeanne Vincer of Vienna and granddaughter of Amy Holland of Girard.

She graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in 1999 in Warren, attended St. Mary’s College of Notre Dame and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English literature in 2003. She then taught at JFK for a year while pursuing a master’s degree in chemistry at Youngstown State University, where she had a graduate assistant scholarship, before attending OSU.

Dr. Vincer currently lives in Columbus and is employed by Mid-America Health while the construction of her private practice in southern Columbus is completed.

Renee Elizabeth Williams has graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law with her juris doctor degree.

Renee Elizabeth Williams has graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law with her juris doctor degree.

Williams is a 2002 graduate of Hubbard High School and a 2005 graduate of Point Park University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree with an acting major. She is the daughter of Richard and Gayle Williams of Hubbard.

While at Pitt, Williams served as president of the Student Bar Association in 2007-08 after serving as secretary of the same organization in 2006-07. She also was a school representative for National Health Law Moot Court.

Williams received the following honors: Ronald D. Ecker Memorial Award for the outstanding team in the Client Counseling Program, Law School Student Leadership Award, School of Law Community Service Award for her many hours of volunteer work at Pittsburgh Children’s Hospital, Taintor Memorial Award for the student receiving the highest grade in the Conflict of Laws Course, and first place, National Client Counseling Competition.

Williams has accepted a position beginning in August with the Somerset County Court of Common Pleas in Somerset, Pa.

HONORS

Heads Ohio clerks

Sarah Brown-Clark, clerk of Youngstown Municipal Court, is the new president of the Ohio Association of Municipal/County Clerks. She was sworn in at a ceremony in Columbus and will serve for one year.

Brown-Clark, as president, will have the responsibility of adding to the knowledge of municipal and county court clerks and clerk deputies through the continuing educational opportunities, including speakers, newsletters and updating changes in procedure and laws.

The association strives to improve municipal court administration.

Brown-Clark, a retired English professor at Youngstown State University, had served as the association’s first vice president and chairwoman of the clerk certification program. She was first elected to the city municipal clerk post in 1999.
