Kosek anniversary celebrated during vacation trip

X STRUTHERS — During a vacation trip to Hilton Head, S.C., Mr. and Mrs. Rich Kosek, of Henry Drive, were honored as they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at a dinner arranged by their children and their spouses.

Hosts for the event were Glenn and Denise Esposito of Poland and Rick and Sheila Kosek of Atlanta. Also participating in the festivities were their five grandchildren.

The former Judy Adams and Mr. Kosek were united in marriage July 19, 1958, at St. Nicholas Church, where they are members.

Mrs. Kosek was a customer-service supervisor with Kmart in Boardman for 20 years prior to retiring in 1995. She was also a self-employed seamstress and hairdresser, and continues to do both as a hobby.

Mr. Kosek served with the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958 and was stationed in Germany. He was a welder with GATX in Masury for 20 years until the plant closed in 1984 and has been employed by Struthers City Schools for 36 years as a school bus driver. He has become known affectionately as the Cleveland Browns’ No. 1 Fan.
