Here’s what’s on tap today in and around Youngstown State University for the Summer Festival of the Arts:

10 a.m.: Community Worship Service at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Wick and Lincoln avenues.

11 a.m.-10 p.m.: St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Summerfest, Walnut Street.

11 a.m.-5 p.m.:Artists’ Marketplace, open for business; Opera Western Reservesilent auction, near campus entrance of Kilcawley Center; Maag Library’sfamous book sale with a greatly expanded selection; Festival of Nations, Maag-Butler Plaza; Main Information Tent open; WYSU broadcasts in HD at their tent near Ward Beecher Science Hall; SMARTS(Students Motivated by the Arts) store on-site where children can purchase artwork of many types at kid-friendly prices. Interactive drum circles where all skill levels are welcome throughout the day. First Book-Mahoning Valleyfun activities including a scavenger hunt, book reading and distribution; Youngstown Symphony Guild, in the Community Partners area

Noon-5 p.m.: Galleries open at McDonough Museum of Art; Children’s hands-on art projects, Children’s Art Tent; Maag Library’s book sale;Chalk On the Blocks, sidewalk drawing in front of McDonough Museum of Art; Tri-County Youth Art Expo, Bliss Hall Gallery; Safe sun viewing with the planetarium’s telescopes; Museum tours, Clarence R. Smith Mineral Museum, in Moser Hall

Performances:YoCoCo,YSU’s student improvisational group will perform random acts of improvisation throughout the festival.

11 a.m.-5 p.m.:Continuous screeningsof classic Disney films, Lecture Hall, McDonough Museum

11 a.m.: Tai chi demonstration, Festival of Nations

11 a.m., noon and 1 p.m.: County Mayo, Kilcawley Fountain Amphitheater.

Noon-2 p.m.:Jocko the Clown, strolling.

Noon: Red Hawk Native American Cultural Society dancers, Festival of Nations; Frank Warren, Open Stage at DeBartolo; Youngstown Area Community Theater Alliance,the Oakland Center for the Arts and Victorian Players performing individual vignettes, Kilcawley Center Little Stage near silent auction; “Oasis in Space,” Ward Beecher Planetarium.
