BOARDMAN — Members of Struthers High School Class of 1954 will meet for breakfast at 9 a.m. today at Denny’s, Route 224. No reservations are required, and guests are welcome.

Lawn festival scheduled

CANFIELD — Calla Evangelical Community Church, 6482 W. Calla Road, will have its annual lawn festival today.

Beginning at 5 p.m., there will be a sale of homemade sandwiches, salads and pies, a country store and a raffle for a Grandmas’ quilt in the Fan pattern.

Epilepsy awareness event

AUSTINTOWN — Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, 5600 Interstate Blvd., will be the gathering place on July 26 for a two-part Rocking for Epilepsy Awareness and Support event .

The public is invited to participate by entering an apple pie baking contest or by rocking on the porch of the restaurant.

Pies for the contest are to be baked in an 8-inch disposable pan and presented for judging at 11 a.m. that day. The pie recipe should be submitted with each entry.

Prizes will be awarded, and pies will be sold to the highest bidder following judging.

Those interested in participating by rocking for one hour can reserve a seat on the porch by calling (330) 270-8037 by July 21.

Kiwanis Club officers elected at convention

CANFIELD — Barb Smith, vice president of the Kiwanis Club of Western Mahoning County, was among the voting delegates attending the Kiwanis International Convention June 26-28 in Orlando, Fla.

The club will also send delegates to the Ohio District Kiwanis Convention Aug. 15 and 16 in Columbus.
