RIDING WITH … Dave Blaney

Qualifying: Rain washed out qualifying for the Lifelock 400 Thursday night so drivers were assigned to the starting grid based on owner’s points. That means Blaney will start in 30th position, on the outside of Row 15, for tonight’s race.

This week: NASCAR’s Sprint Cup series goes to Chicagoland Speedway Saturday night for the Lifelock 400. Television coverage (TNT) is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. with the green flag dropping at 8.

Last week: The Hartford native finished 19th in the Coke Zero 400 at Daytona International Speedway before an estimated crowd of 125,000. Despite the good finish Blaney dropped a spot in the driver standings, to 31st place. He was overtaken by Robby Gordon — who finished sixth last Saturday night — for the 30th spot, and trails Gordon by 15 points.
