Outdoor concert: The Scrappers announced a concert at Eastwood Field Aug. 21 when rock band Foreigner will entertain. Tickets for the concert go on sale today at 10 a.m. at the Scrappers box office. Fans can also purchase tickets at all Ticketmaster outlets. Tickets are $25 for upper box reserve seats, $30 for lower box reserved seats, $40 for field passes and $55 for Gold Circle Premium seats. This and that: Thursday night’s nine runs and 16 hits against Vermont were both season highs for the Scrappers … Ryan Blair and Jeremie Tice both hit their first professional home runs in that game … Lonnie Chisenhall is tied for first in the New York-Penn League in triples. He and 12 others in the league each have two … In 65 plate appearances this season Brock Simpson has not hit into a double play … The Scrappers’ starting pitcher Friday, Matt Langwell, an 11th round draft pick out of Rice University, was making his first start of the season.
Televised: Friday’s contest with the Lake Monsters was televised live over Fox 17/62. It was the second live broadcast of a Scrappers game this year and the station will do one more July 25.
Promotion: Fans were treated to Parrott Head Night along with a Jimmy Buffett jersey auction along with fireworks sponsored by WFMJ/WBCB and WBBG.
