web site for dancers

DanceJam (dancejam.com) is a video-based social Web site geared toward people who love to move. Like other social sites, members can create profiles and post photos/videos, leave messages and more. However, DanceJam boasts some unique features its target audience is bound to love.

To begin, each video has a slow-motion button. Watching routines frame-by-frame allows dancers to learn complicated moves that can be added their repertoire.

Another cool DanceJam feature are battles. Battles pit two DanceJam members with similar styles against each other, with site visitors voting for the most skilled. Site members can leave comments as well (not to be read by the easily offended).

Finally, DanceJam features a dance encyclopedia. Each entry includes a short article on the origins of the dance style and instructional video tutorials. Styles range from popping and break dancing to capoeira (an Afro-Brazilian mix of dance and martial art) and the mamba.

go 3-d with ‘hannah montana’

The hit “Hannah Montana” movie will be nearly inescapable on television this month in every dimension.

“Hannah Montana& Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert” will come to Starz in standard- and high-definition starting 9 p.m. EDT Saturday, July 26.

The 3-D version of the film, which had a limited-engagement theater run earlier this year, will begin showing on the Starz on Demand and Starz HD on Demand channels on Sunday, July 27, along with the other two versions.

Fretting about where you put those 3-D glasses? Starz has a guide to crafting a pair at www.starz.com/3D.

The movie also will be available to download from the broadband platforms Starz Play and Vongo, but only in standard definition and not in 3-D.

Disney Channel previously announced that the movie’s TV debut is set for 8 p.m. July 26.

plumping pointers

Many girls worry about their hips, stomach, thighs and other miscellaneous body parts, but if your insecurities include thin, dry or naturally gloss-free lips, Sally Hansen might have your cure.

The new Sally Hansen Lip Lab collection features, well, everything you could ever want for your lips. There are treatment products, including a PM Lip Plumper ($9.95) that will shape up your lips overnight, or a Lip Blush Plumping Balm ($9.95) that glosses while plumping. There’s also Overnight Lip Recovery ($9.95) for damaged lips. All of the products go on smoothly and the applicators, such as the attached brush for the plumping balm, make the products easier to apply.

‘wall-e’ the game

Many have come to expect a certain measure of well-intentioned prosaicness from Pixar-branded video games, which typically blend together some concoction of fan service and gameplay that is, depending on your level if cynicism, either tried and true or tired and trite.

“Wall-E” pits you in 21‚Ñ2 roles, allowing you to play as Wall-E (the junker bot) in some levels, Eve (the slick white robot) in others, and a third arrangement that won’t be detailed here for spoiler purposes. Gameplay consists primarily of platforming and puzzle-solving during the Wall-E levels and third-person shooting and flight missions in the Eve levels.
