NILES — Brock Simpson went 4-for-5 and Ryan Blair went 3-for-4 to lead Mahoning Valley, but the Scrappers fell to the Vermont Lake Monsters, 7-6, in a New York-Penn League game at Eastwood Field Friday night.

Almost 3,500 fans attended the game at Buffett Night.
