R&J Truck captures Class B series title

STRUTHERS — R J Trucking completed a sweep of not only the Class B championship series, but the entire postseason as it posted a 10-2 victory over Astro Falcons in game three of the best-of-five series Thursday at Cene Park.
The title was the third straight for R J Trucking, which won all seven games it played in the postseason as the four seed knocked off fifth seed Simon Roofing in the opening round and top-seeded Rondinelli is the semifinals.
R J scored in all but one inning against the Astros as it used a 14-hit attack. Joe Wielbruda collected four hits, scored three runs and drove home two to lead the offense, while Matt Pitzulo had a pair of hits.
Wielbruda went 8-for-12 with seven runs batted in during the three-games. Brad Byers went the first 41‚Ñ3 innings for the win as he struck out two.
Shane Wagner, Jared Kirin, and Bryan Visingardi each had two hits for the Falcons, who had won 17 of their last 18 games before losing the three straight to R&J. Trent Vallinger pitched five innings for the loss as he allowing six earned runs, with four strikeouts.
R&J dominated the second-seeded Astros from the start as it outscored the Falcons 28-5 in the three games. For the seven postseason games, R&J outscored opponents 64-15.
Rondinelli Tuxedo 7, Astro Falcons 4
STRUTHERS — Joe Aulizia’s two-run double in the bottom of the sixth inning capped a three-run rally as Rondinelli Tuxedo took a 2-1 lead in the best of five series for the Class Little b title at Cene Park.
Aulizia also hit two singles and drove in three runs. Shane Parks had three hits and Phil Lipan two,
Anthony Raschilla tossed two scoreless, hitless innings for the win. Sutton Whiting drove home a pair of runs for the Astro Falcons.
